It is beyond doubt that technology and startups have changed the world. Look at Google which helps gather and share the worlds information, then there is Facebook which connect almost 1 billion people and many others as well. Having said that Pakistan lacked the momentum of entrepreneurship due to lack of resources and infrastructure, but since the past 3 years P@SHA and many other organizations are trying to promote the spirit of technology entrepreneurship.
Plan9 is Pakistan’s first tech incubator and was formed under the wing of the Punjab Information Technology Board. Plan9 is housed in a state of the art infrastructure located on the 9th floor at the purpose built Arfa Software Technology Park. Our aim is to promote and be the catalyst for a new wave of technological entrepreneurship in Pakistan. They provide new startups with a nurturing ecosystem to thrive and grow and mentoring them using our vast network of partners, such as P@SHA.
An Information session on PLAN9 and Karachi Launchpad was held yesterday at the IBA Karachi (Main campus) in collaboration with P@SHA. Ms. Jehan Ara (President P@SHA and Board Member PLAN9) and Mr. Fasieh Mehta (Senior Program Manager PITB and Project Manager, PLAN9) briefed the bright minds of IBA about the program.
Having the likes of Badar Kushnood, Babar Imran, Jehan Ara, Zia Imran, Dr Umar Saif And Zafar Khan, the incubator is a spark of light to aspiring entrepreneurs of Pakistan. The organization is looking for applications from aspiring entrepreneurs of Karachi and Islamabad after successfully launching in Lahore last week.
