Google Intern Makes Check-In Maps More Dynamic And Fun On Google+

in Maps / No Comments

Check-In Maps are pretty dull and boring if only you get to zoom in and out of them just to view the location you are searching for. Now an intern for Google Martin Matysiak came out with a wonderful Google Chrome Extension that makes takes map images shown in Checkins and replaces them by an actual map which you can zoom and drag around!

This extension makes Checkin maps on Google+™ dynamic by replacing them with a real Google Maps™ map as soon as you hover them. You can then explore the surroundings of the Checkin right from within Google+!

Martin has made the code is open source: https://code.google.com/p/clickthrough-maps/ and welcomes any body to make their own customized version.

To install the extension, please visit the Chrome Web Store:goo.gl/ETRHM
