Facebook, after migrating most of its user base profiles onto the new timeline profile, has now announced timeline for brand pages today at the Facebook Marketing Conference. Page owners might have received the reminder to publish their pages with the new timeline view and will have them pushed to publish timeline on March 30.
For those of you who own a Facebook brand fan pages, many concerns have arisen about the view of information when the changes take place, I would like to give you some tips to control and manage the information you want to show on your Facebook page, without jeopardizing the overall look and feel of the page.
What’s New:
Facebook’s new timeline for Pages helps businesses and organizations express their identity through features like cover photo and timeline, connect with people via web and mobile and respond to people in a more personal way.

Brand your Page : Add a unique cover photo and showcase your most important news on your Page timeline.
Highlight what matters : Pin a new post to the top of your Page each week so people notice what’s important.
Manage everything in one place : See and respond to your recent activity and private messages right from the top of your Page.
The layout:
According to our own little experience, we have witnessed that once you publish your Facebook timeline for pages, the layout of your page is going to be changed completely. More like your profile timeline view, the new layout will consolidate all the posts in a single page and will provide the viewers with a timeline view of individual posts.
Although the layout looks entirely different, the functionality will remain the same. The conversion of a simple page into a timeline page will do nothing but nip and enhancement to the existing style. Timeline unlocks new possibilities for branding, raising awareness and creativity.
The Benefit:
Facebook pages have now become one of the strongest marketing tools for companies and brands, which is why the new timeline page will add to the existing benefits of running an official brand page. Similar to the profile cover, the new pages will have the option to set a large sized page cover at the top of the page. If businesses use that area cleverly to feature any particular thing, the featured image can effectively come to their advantage in marketing a new or existing product powerfully.
The History:
Not just the cover photo and the different layout would help attracting new likes and visitors, a comprehensive view of your page history will help you in coming up with a personal touch on your brand page. You can go through your company’s history and find out the date and other details of an important event to bring up a story your fans would love to read. Telling people how you began or writing some story of the kind will help you in building strong customer relations.
The Filter:
The historic view of your page is a good way to moderate the kind of stuff you have posted on your page. You can filter the stuff that you find unnecessary, add stuff you want to share with people, update the existing information, videos and photos.
Don’t worry about losing your existing Fans count because of this transition and remember that the more insight your fans can get into your page, the richer are the chances that they stick to your page and invite others to like it too.
We will be covering up various elements of how to guides for page admins, plus more about the new timeline profile for page, so don’t forget to come back. You can get more information about the change https://www.facebook.com/about/pages
