Extract Insights Across Datasets with SumAll

in Uncategorized / No Comments

Businesses collect and rely on data that exists in silos across the web – from site analytics to inventory numbers, social media to sales data, there’s more important data available today than most are able to aggregate and analyze themselves.

SumAll is a connected data platform that enables business operators from companies of all sizes to visualize their mission-critical data through one centralized location.  Users of SumAll can extract insights across datasets by combining and analyzing the metrics that matter most to them.  “Put simply, our vision is to democratize information by making it beautiful, affordable and accessible to all.  In doing so, the visibility and insights that SumAll brings enables business operators to turn data into dollars,” says Catherine Gluckstein, President of SumAll.

One of SumAll’s customers was having a very difficult time making sense of his eCommerce, Google Analytics and social media data.  He knew there was a story to be told about how each was influencing the other, but being a small business owner, he lacked the resources to dive too far into them himself.  He decided to give SumAll a try and within a few minutes and even fewer clicks, was able to integrate all of his key data and view it in one uniform dashboard without having to work with his developers.

For the first time, he was able to see what was happening across his business and understand the relationship between his social media posts, web traffic and transactions.  This made him more comfortable continuing to invest his limited resources in social media because, for the first time, he could see that it was working.

SumAll integrates with all major components of the eCommerce ecosystem including payment processors, social platforms, shopping carts, online marketplaces and, of course, Google Analytics.  “It only took us about 6 weeks to complete our integration with Google Analytics, from concept to go live,” according to Catherine.  “After our customer completes the authentication and authorization process, we ingest their data into SumAll and normalize it to make it available to all SumAll applications across web, mobile and email.”
SumAll is free to try and is incredibly intuitive and straightforward to set-up.  Sign-Up today to break down the silos around your data and empower your business’ data-driven decisions today.

Google Launches New Tools To Help The Disabled

in Uncategorized / No Comments

Globally, there are approximately 285 million visually impaired people in the world—and each one of those people has networks of family and friends. Increasing the accessibility of products impacts not only the millions of people with disabilities, but also the lives of the people connected to them.

It’s because of the wide impact better accessibility tools can have that we partner with organizations like the Vision Serve Alliance, which brings together the CEOs of U.S. nonprofits that serve the blind and visually impaired to network and share best practices.

On Thursday, November 8 Google welcomed 63 of these executives to Google’s San Francisco, Calif. office. There, Google showed how Google is making Google’s products more accessible to blind and visually impaired users. They also shared insight into Google’s culture—our commitment to openness, transparency and encouraging Googlers to bring their whole selves to work.

The attendees talked with representatives from the Google self-driving car team about the technology’s potential impact on mobility for the blind and visually impaired, as previously demoed by Steve Mahan from the Santa Clara Valley Blind Center. Other teams of Googlers also joined the event to demonstrate accessibility features in products like Chrome and Android. Chromevox is a screen reader that’s built into Chrome OS and the Chrome browser. Android’s built-in accessibility features include text-to-speech, haptic feedback, gesture navigation, trackball and directional-pad navigation, all of which help visually impaired users navigate their mobile devices.

In line with their efforts to empower all people with disabilities, on December 3 Google is celebrating the International Day of Disability in Google offices in North America. They will have 7-minute flash talks about how Google’s work on accessibility empowers different communities, and a global product accessibility improvement day where Googlers test its products for accessibility bugs.

Siri Goes Nuts When You Ask For Movie Reviews

in Uncategorized / No Comments

You may or may not have noticed that sometimes Siri says crazy things. We recently noticed that Siri summarizes movies in a pretty funny way, too. Siri seems to have a distinct preference for Sci-Fi (who can blame her?), though she also has a few words to say about the classic Wizard of Oz, as well as Pixar’s Toy Story.

Siri also has several different answers when you ask her about The Matrix. Sadly, she has no thoughts on Gone With the Wind, nor can she tell us which version of Blade Runner is superior. Let us know if you find others!

Blade Runner (1984)

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

Alien (1979)

Inception (2010)

Matrix (1999)

The Wizard of Oz (1939)

Star Trek (2009)

Star Wars (1977)

The Terminator (1984)

Wall-E (2008)

Toy Story (1995)

Gaming On The KindleFire Tablets From Amazon [Review]

in Uncategorized / No Comments

Kindle Fire became the most successful product launch in the history of Amazon.com soon after its was launched by Amazon last November. In its first nine months, it accounted for 22% of U.S. tablet sales. Last week, Amazon introduced the next generation of tablets: Kindle Fire HD. The new Kindle Fire tablets  will give players a completely revamped gaming experience, powered by Amazon GameCircle, and with the general release of the Amazon GameCircle API, will give game developers an opportunity to get additional features and visibility at no cost.

A New Games Library

Since playing games is one of the most popular activities on Kindle Fire, Amazon created a new Games library to give players a home base for their game collection. Games is now the first product category listed in the navigation.

In the Games library, players can immediately see all their games, sorted by the most recently played. For games that have integrated with Amazon GameCircle, players can see their friends, achievement, and leaderboard activity before starting play. Leading games such as Jetpack Joyride, Where’s my Perry?, Skylanders Cloud Patrol and Temple Run have already integrated with Amazon GameCircle.

GameCircle-enabled games also get several pages of content in the game library, including a “Summary” page, a friends page, an achievements page and a leaderboards page. The “Summary” page highlighted below features friends ranking, player scores and next achievement to earn, with a “Play” button to launch the game.

Social Gaming

In July, Amazon GameCircle launched with the leaderboards and achievements that customers love. Now, GameCircle lets players connect with other GameCircle players or import their Facebook Friends to compare achievements and compete for higher scores. Customers are now able to see what games their friends own and what new games they should try.

Detailed friend-to-friend comparison pages also help customers find out how they stack up against their friends, giving a quick overview of achievements and high scores for each player.

As a developer, all you need to do to get these features for your game is to add GameCircle achievements or leaderboards.  Best of all, these services are free and easy to integrate. Once integrated, your game will automatically feature player stats, game library content and leverage all the new social features and game discovery mechanisms.  Select GameCircle games are also highlighted in Amazon Appstore, giving your game a chance to get additional visibility among Kindle Fire customers.
